What an inspection covers
A complete inspection and test exercises the system the way an emergency would, one device and one function at a time, and confirms that signals reach the control unit, the notification appliances and the monitoring station.
- Initiating devices: smoke, heat and duct detectors, manual stations, waterflow and supervisory switches
- Notification appliances: horns, strobes, speakers and voice messages
- Control unit, power supplies, batteries and charging circuits
- Interfaces: elevator recall, HVAC shutdown, door release and dampers
- Alarm, supervisory and trouble signals to the central station
How often inspection is required
NFPA 72 sets inspection and testing frequencies by component. Many items are tested annually, and some require more frequent inspection. Your jurisdiction's adopted edition of NFPA 72, its fire code and your fire official determine the schedule that applies to your building.
We build your schedule around those requirements, so inspections are neither missed nor duplicated.
What you receive
A written report that lists what was tested, the result for each item, any deficiencies found and our recommended corrections. It is the record you'll be asked for by fire officials and, often, by your insurer.

We price corrections separately and can complete them on a follow-up visit, then retest and update your report.
Systems we test
Siemens fire safety systems, as an authorized distributor, plus conventional and addressable systems from other manufacturers, including systems installed by other contractors.
Preparing for your inspection
- Arrange access to every floor, roof, mechanical and tenant space
- Have panel keys and the last inspection report available
- Notify occupants that alarms will sound during testing
- Confirm who will contact the monitoring company to place the account on test
